WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

What color combinations appeal to you? Are your favorite colors incorporated into your blog? I am always interested in what people like and don't like. I think it says alot about them.

I tend to be an observer. I am always looking for inspiration all around me. There are so many things that inspire me, I could find a color palette from an oil spill (only a little, itsy, bitsy oil spill, no national disaster). I just love nature, the landscape is so beautiful and full of color combinations. We had breakfast on the beach this morning. The weather could not have been more perfect. I found the most wonderful color palette in a pile of shells at the edge of the surf. The colors were the same that are in the Heather Mist design board below. The inspiration for the board was the flower, but you can find the same palette in other objects.

I just love doing design boards. Finding my inspiration and then designing a room around it. Sometimes it just takes my breath away when I see the finished project. How one object can be the jumping off point for a project.

I made four design boards, all incorporating grey (the new black). All four show the inspiration piece. I hope you like them and that they help you as you look at nature with new eyes.

The winter scene just spoke to me. The contrast is amazing. Look how the red park bench jumps out. The picture is very neutral, except for the bench. You could add as little or as much of the red as you desire.

This palette is very peaceful. The heather flower and the rocks are the inspiration. The mauve is very grayed down, it is not the pinky mauve from the 80's. I don't think I would have any trouble relaxing in these rooms. It doesn't look like Ms Kitty is either.

I love birds nests and feathers, in fact, I collect them. How beautiful are those blue bird eggs, not to mention the color. This palette works great for a seaside retreat. Sign me up!

The inspiration was one beautiful orchid. The result is a tropical oasis. Does anyone want a margarita? Definitely, sign me up for that!!!

I'd love to hear about some of your projects and what inpires you.

Till next time, Happy decorating

I love your new boards. My new color is white. I love all white with just a little pop of something citrus-y.
