Metamorphosis Monday, Paper Lanterns

Metamorphosis Monday hosted by: Susan at Between Naps on the Porch

Take a jog over to Susan's to view more spectacular transformations

Turn ordinary paper lanterns into works of art. Simple, cheap and fast, just in time for those summer picnics. All you need is a paper lantern, cocktail umbrellas (cut off the pick), scrapbook paper, ribbon and glue.

Viola, you made art. Functional art at that.

Purchase inexpensive paper lanterns in your desired shape.

Then, go crazy at the party store.

I love the palm tree umbrella. This would work great for a tropical feel.

Polka dots are just plain fun.

Citrus colors for a picnic are just perfect.

Multi colored, happy, happy, happy.

Free as a butterfly. Cut butterflies out of pretty scrapbooking paper. Bend the wings a little bit to make them look like they are about to take flight.

A little bit of trim for detail.

More beautiful butterflies. Dragonflies or lady bugs would also look great.

Scraps of leftover ribbon put to good use.

Blessing,

Kathleen..
Awesome and creative idea. I love the ones with the butterflies. I'll have to do one for my Mom for Mother's Day.. she loves butterflies and spends so much time outside on her deck. It'll be perfect for her. Thanks for sharing .. and for giving me such an awesome gift idea for Mothers Day.
Have a great week,
Hugs,
Debbie
