In the peeling back of all the layers.

I love the old paint with all the peeling and chips showing so you can see all the layers underneath. I often look at it and try to imagine where it was and what the decorations and color schemes were around it. Lovely and sentimental post. Hugs, Marty
Kathleen, I love it! This blue door is Gorgeous! I envision it in a home on a French countryside cottage. ~CC Catherine
ooo the stories those doors could tell!

Oh nice! I love the first one especially. Detail shot like this are most often far more interesting than the whole thing.
Nicely done!
You have a good eye. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
I LOVE the photos! I am an old house/barn fan. My daughter and I STOP roadside to make photos. I need a bumper sticker that reads: I brake for old things. Ha! Thank you for sharing the pictures. Simply beautiful.
Great shots, Kathleen! I love primitives and also shabby elegance. Either way, it has a story to tell.
Thanks for sharing, and Happy Blue Monday!
XO,
Sheila :-)

Morning, Dear Kathleen. Now honey, forget the peeling painted doors and just give me those adorable door knobs! lol

Oooh, I love these blues...especially the first one! :-) Those doors make me want to enter and see more! Susan
I live in an older home, and I too wonder just what color schemes people had. I particularly like those unique doorknobs on the blue doors!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you have a good Monday ☺
What a wonderful, unique post. I love the peeling paint. There is something very special about these doors. Happy Blue Monday.

I love old doors and windows. If they could only speak, what stories they could tell of the families living there. I loved your post. Happy Blue Monday..and have a most wonderful week.
I have a pink door that can tell many stories. I will be putting it in my garden as a "door to somewhere".

I love your post .. I can only imagine how many hands have turned the knobs and what might be found behind. It has to be the entry into a beautiful French Cottage.. hugs ~lynne~

Oh these are gorgeous. I could see the 1st and 2nd one as framed art work. If you have an Etsy account I would list these and sell them. That's just my 2 cents! ;-)
