Blue Monday, Old Blue Painted Doors

Happy Blue Monday, hosted by Sally @ smilingsally.

Beauty can be found in the simple things.

In the peeling back of all the layers.

Chipping away at the surface.

History unfolds to what lies beneath.

Till next Time, Happy Decorating

I love the old paint with all the peeling and chips showing so you can see all the layers underneath. I often look at it and try to imagine where it was and what the decorations and color schemes were around it. Lovely and sentimental post. Hugs, Marty

Oh nice! I love the first one especially. Detail shot like this are most often far more interesting than the whole thing.

Nicely done!

I LOVE the photos! I am an old house/barn fan. My daughter and I STOP roadside to make photos. I need a bumper sticker that reads: I brake for old things. Ha! Thank you for sharing the pictures. Simply beautiful.

Great shots, Kathleen! I love primitives and also shabby elegance. Either way, it has a story to tell.

Thanks for sharing, and Happy Blue Monday!

I live in an older home, and I too wonder just what color schemes people had. I particularly like those unique doorknobs on the blue doors!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you have a good Monday ☺

I love old doors and windows. If they could only speak, what stories they could tell of the families living there. I loved your post. Happy Blue Monday..and have a most wonderful week.

I love your post .. I can only imagine how many hands have turned the knobs and what might be found behind. It has to be the entry into a beautiful French Cottage.. hugs ~lynne~

Oh these are gorgeous. I could see the 1st and 2nd one as framed art work. If you have an Etsy account I would list these and sell them. That's just my 2 cents! ;-)
